Called To Serve

So my little brother Jared received his mission call LAST Thursday, but since my mom was in Oregon with my grandparents, he had to wait for almost a week and half to open it! So last night we all finally gathered at my parents house for the big event. Ventura California! SPANISH speaking! I've never seen anyone turn so white after reading those words! For those who may not know, 4 out of 5 of my siblings and I were born with some form of hearing loss (thanks Mom ;). Jared happens to have the worst of it, and if you're aware, learning a new language with this sort of road block, is NOT an easy task! However, Jared is not your typical boy. This kid managed to receive a PILOTS licence by the age of 17, was an EMT before his high school graduation, is an eagle scout, fluent in sign language, and still managed to graduate with HONORS! There's really nothing stopping him! He'll accomplish everything he dreams, and so much more! It's just one more achievement he'll get to add to his impeccable resume! Congratulations Jared! You'll make one of the worlds greatest missionaries!

Aw, yay for your brother! Is your mom going to have to restrain herself from drivin' to CA though?? :) I love that he had to wait to open it as well. Poor guy, left in suspense! Pretty sure I woulda steamed that baby open secretly in that ten days somewhere.
